So, Um, What Exactly Are You Doing On A Farm?
If you knew me before I was taking selfies with farm animals, you’d also be wondering (in puzzlement) how I ended up living on a farm.
You see, I was born and raised in downtown Toronto. I have typically worked in an office during my eight-year career as a researcher in the criminal justice field. And if you met me in the city, you’d probably assume that I was, well, a city kinda girl.
Then, seemingly one day, I disappeared from the downtown scene and started Instagramming about donkeys and ducks, and my awesome new life on the farm.
But, while it may have seemed crazy, the big move to a life immersed in nature made complete sense to me. (You can learn all about how I came to the decision to walk away from the city and my career here).
Aside from (wo)manning the farm’s Instagram account, I feed and take care of the animals (sheep, donkey, dogs, cats, pigs, ducks and chicken!). I also help with developing the farm’s online communications and membership engagement.
I have many more adventures in nature planned for 2017 and beyond — on the farm, in The Great Outdoors, and in my travels abroad. Through it all, I’ll be writing about my experiences and sharing what I learn with you here at Nature Immersed.
I hope you’ll join me for this exciting and most definitely unpredictable ride!
