The Juan de Fuca Marine Trail (also known as the “little cousin” of the West Coast Trail) is a 47-kilometre hike in British Columbia characterized by mostly temperate rain forest, as well as rock-filled beaches where multi-day hikers can camp out overnight.
I spent a lot of time researching the JDF Trail for my 2013 hiking trip. I probably read every single blog and information website out there on what to expect from the hike. Going into it, I felt as ready as I could ever be.
But as I was about to learn, nothing could ever fully prepare us for the adventure that was to come.
